The company's application for SafeContractor accreditation was
driven by the need for a uniform standard across the business.
SafeContractor accreditation will enhance the company's ability to
win new contracts, and its commitment to safety will be viewed
positively by its insurers when the company liability policy is up
for renewal.
Gemma Archibald, Director of Alcumus SafeContractor said: "Major
organisations simply cannot afford to run the risk of employing
contractors who are not able to prove that they have sound health
and safety policies in place."
"More companies need to understand the importance of adopting
good risk management in the way that PME Projects has done. The
firm's high standard has set an example which hopefully will be
followed by other companies within the sector. SafeContractor plays
a vital role in supporting our clients in meeting their compliance
needs, whilst working with their contractors as they progress
through the accreditation process."
Paul Moore, Director of PME Projects said: "We have always
endeavoured to work safely, which is probably represented by our
impeccable safety record. That said, we never rest on our laurels
& are constantly looking to educate our engineers &
improve our focus.
"Having initially gained our CHAS accreditation in 2015, we
added further to this with our SafeContractor accreditation early
in 2016. As a leading third party accreditation scheme, it
recognises extremely rigorous standards in health and safety
management amongst contractors. Which in turn is recognised by
potential clients.
As part of our continued progress, we added our Avetta
accreditation to our portfolio in November 2016. Offering amongst
others, a level, and competitive playing field for
safe Contractors and suppliers. Managing the compliance of
safety policies and regulatory requirements & built-in global
marketing exposure.
"We're confident our commitment to health & safety, regular
updated training of our engineers (CPD) & commitment to the
apprentice program. Will only strengthen our current position
within the market place, benefitting both existing and new
clients."
