Ley Holdings

Ley Holdings Partner With PME Electricians

When Liverpool-based Ley Holdings were looking to move their Ley Rubber manufacturing facility from their City Centre base to new premises in Knowsley Industrial Estate, on the outskirts of Merseyside, they needed a range of contractors they could trust - contractors with the technical expertise and project management skills to exact a smooth and seamless transition.

As acquaintances through the networking group BNI Mavericks, Ley Holdings and PME Projects were familiar with each other's services and markets, had heard glowing customer testimonials during the weekly networking meetings - the relocation provided the perfect opportunity for the two to work together.

Ley Holdings, is a specialist manufacturer and extruder of rubber, producing a vast range of products and specialist one-off orders for the automotive and education sectors including door & window seals, rubber tubing, extruded tubing, extruded polymer tubing, stoppers and corks.

With a vast array of expenses associated with the relocation and expansion of the business to accommodate a strong order book - the move itself, decommissioning & re-commissioning of machinery, infrastructure works and the capital outlay for new machinery itself - every pound saved was crucial.

The initial site audit identified the electrical power, lighting and network data cabling installation works required to satisfy the requirements and future proof the facility for further future expansion.

Working with Scottish Power the mains distribution board was upgraded to accommodate the load of the machines and a new power distribution system designed and installed to cover plant, machinery and the offices.

CAT 5E network cabling was integrated throughout the office and warehouse locations, whilst PME Projects trusted service partners completed the installation and commissioning of the fire and intruder alarms.

New energy efficient lighting systems were discussed and specified with Mark Weallens, Managing Director of Ley Holdings, overwhelmed when PME Commercial Electricians informed them that Ley could eligible for a grant from the Carbon Trust.

As they have done for a multitude of other Clients PME's team of Warrington electrical contractors sourced and completed the application to the Carbon Trust, on behalf of Ley Holdings, successfully obtaining a grant to cover the supply & installation of energy efficient, presence detection and daylight harvesting systems amounting to c£18,000.

PME Electricians Testimonials

 Mark Weallens commented:

"I always expect a great service from anyone who works with Ley Holdings and PME electricians were excellent from start to finish. The icing on the cake was their knowledge of available grants and their assistance in helping us obtain the significant funds. We will be working closely with PME, as our preferred electrical contractor, in the future."

PME Electricians Director, Paul Moore, commented:

"We undertake similar types of relocation, interior refurbishment and infrastructure installation on a weekly basis. The team were delighted we could help Ley Holdings get up and running quickly in the new premises, as well as obtaining a grant for their energy efficient lighting.
